Srinagar, Dec 04 (KNO): Amid the forecast of four-day dry spell in Jammu and Kashmir, the night chill has intensified in the Valley with most of the areas recording the sub-zero temperatures. As per the details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the minimum temperature plummeted further across the Valley with Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir recording the second coldest night of the season at minus 2.0 degree Celsius. Pahalgam, a famous tourist destination, has recorded a low of minus 4.8 degree Celsius while the Meteorological department (MeT) has informed that Qazigund, a gateway of Kashmir, recorded a low of minus 2.2 degree Celsius while Kupwara in north Kashmir recorded a minimum temperature of minus 1.2 degree Celsius. Gulmarg, a famous ski-resort, recorded a low of minus 3.5 degree Celsius. The temperature has plummeted amidst the forecast of four-day dry spell till December 07 while the weatherman here has predicted no significant weather conditions till December 15. Director Meteorological department (MeT), Dr Mukhtar Ahmad told KNO that there is a possibility of generally cloudy weather while light rain and snow at isolated higher reaches are expected during late night of 8th to 9th morning. However, on December 10, there is a forecast of light rain and snow at isolated places towards early morning. In the meantime, the weatherman has predicted generally dry weather from December 11-13 and light rains and snow over isolated places on December 14 & 15. Meanwhile, the tourists, travelers and transporters have been advised to follow administration and traffic advisory—(KNO)
